Robert H. Wallin, age 88 of Hastings, passed away on December 28, 2020. “Bob” was born on January 16, 1932 in Jamestown, NY to Norman and Marjorie Wallin. Growing up during the depression, Bob worked in an automotive parts store as a stock boy and graduated in 1949 from Jamestown High School. He served in the army reserves with an interest in field engineering. He married Joanne Gowan in 1951. He took a sales position with Hastings Manufacturing when the family lived in Buffalo, NY. They moved to Hastings in 1967 when Bob accepted a regional sales manager’s position with Hastings Manufacturing and was later promoted to vice president of sales. He served on the board of the Automotive Sales Council for several years. Bob left Hastings Manufacturing in 1995. Bob and Joanne loved to travel and always talked about the wonderful people they met throughout their lives. He and his wife Joanne were at home on the water and loved spending time on their boat or traveling in their RV. Bob was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Joanne; his mother, Marjorie and his father, Norman; his aunt, Nora Palmgren (Gilbert) and grandmother, Oscaria Wallin-Rohn, all of Jamestown. Bob is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Will (Marty) of Appleton, WI; his daughter. Lynne Fuller (Bruce) of Hastings and Tracy Wallin-Styring (Chris) of Hastings; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A celebration of life is planned later in the year.
