Charles Keeler


Charles Keeler of Hastings, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020 at his son’s home in Battle Creek. He was 87 years old. He was born on May 25, 1933 in Hastings to Arthur and Gladys (Wilkins) Keeler. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1951 and served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict, which he was very proud of. He married Judy McNutt in 1961 and that union ended in divorce. He retired from Bliss Manufacturing after over 30 years and worked at Bob’s Gun and Tackle for many years. He enjoyed classis cars, flowers and electronics. He is survived by his son, Scott (Sheree) Keeler; sisters, Jan Day and Linda (Harry) Garrison; grandchildren, Jessica Jacobs, Bryan (Chelsea) Keeler; great grandchildren, Spencer, Makenzie and Xavier. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Kenneth and Keith; sister, Judy Fulong. Charles’ family will receive friends at Lauer Family Funeral Home 1401 N. Broadway in Hastings with COVID-19 restrictions, on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. His family requests all in attendance wear face masks and practice social distancing. Interment will take place in Fuller Cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Esther, Laura and Chuck for keeping a close watch on Charles.
