David Allen Branch
David Allen Branch, age 79, of Delton, left us in the arms of the angels on December 25, 2020.
David was born on October 8, 1941 in Kalamazoo to Frank and Joan (Wagner) Branch. He was a very ambitious and hardworking person that enjoyed staying busy. Dave started working at the age of 14, he would leave work on Sunday morning to ring the church bells in the Richland Square before returning to work. He worked at Gibson Guitar for 20 years before working at Upjohn Co. for over 20 years. Dave worked for the past 15 years in the security industry.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, joining the service at the age of 17. He worked as a radioman 1st class on the USS Shadwell in the Mediterranean.
Dave was an active member of the VFW Post 422 and the Moose Lodge 1649 in Delton for many years. His other interests included playing fast pitch softball until he was 48, fishing, golfing, and master gardening.
Dave was a lifelong bowler, both as an amateur and professional. He helped build the Richland Lanes where he worked part-time teaching peewee bowlers for years.
Dave ran Branch Ranch Labradors for many years, providing animals to the Delton community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill (Jill) Branch; brother-in-law,Jim Buckhout; and infant son, Eric David Branch.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Karin (Carpenter) Branch; children, Scott Branch, Krista (Shane) Courtney, Coreene (Joe) Johnson; grandchildren, Drew, Seth, Eric (Lily), Rily Sue Courtney; Breana (John) Schmidt, Dyana Kovacs, Teresa (Ed) Smutny; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Ryken Schmidt, Isaac and Sophie Owens; brother, Bob (Mary) Branch; sisters, Marilyn Buckhout, Kathy (Dick) Marshall.
A service for Dave will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Prairieville Cemetery.
