Thelma Joyce (Stout) Walkington, age 76, of Lake Odessa, passed away peacefully in her home on December 14, 2020. She was born on June 20, 1944 to Sterrey and Kathleen (Moore) Stout. In 1971 she married Bruce Walkington. Her lifetime was spent raising children, playing and singing for school performances, 4-H, churches, Sr. Citizen groups, Weddings, Funerals and many other community events, along with her 40-year career as organist at First Christian Church in Ionia. She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Larry) Cole, Terry (Lisa) Walkington, Carolyn (Jeff) Smith, Renae Puffer, Ida (Eric) Morrow, Mark Walkington; grandchildren, Rachelle (Bryon) Lehman, Shawndra (Michael) Smith, Rena (Matthew) McDonald, Brandon (Jessica) Walkington, Melissa (Brady) Carter, Katrina (Josh) Hernly, Matthew (Macei) Smith, Travis (Montana) Ackerson, Hannah (Andrew) Armbruster; 19 great- grandchildren; her sister, Edith Stout, and sister-in-law, Sandra Stout. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce Walkington; brother, Leon Stout; sister,; Vivian Walkington; son, Lewis Walkington; son-in-law, Larry Puffer. A private funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 18 , 2020. The service will be livestreamed on Lake Funeral Homes Facebook page. Graveside to follow at noon.
