Peter Snider, age 92, of Hudsonville, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Leeta Snider; his siblings, John (Dawn) Snider, Herm (Elizabeth) Snyder, Gerret (Rose) Snider, George (Katherine) Snider, Theresa (Charles) Carton, and Katie Svec. He leaves behind his children Chris (Julie) Snider, Steve (Marion) Snider, and Scott (Linda) Snider; grandchildren Stacey (Thomas), Ryan, Evah, Chad (Jeremy), Megan (Brandon), Nicholas (Ashley), Tyler, Andy (Lori), Michael (Tina); sister-in-law, Ann; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Peter served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He served on the aircraft carrier, USS Leyte. He retired after 36 years at General Motors. He loved to hunt deer and forage for mushrooms. He owned a cottage on North Lake in Lake County, where he loved to spend time fishing. He also loved spending time with his family and was always there to help out a friend. A private family graveside service will be held at Grandville Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to Leeta. In memory of Peter and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of West Michigan - God’s Kitchen or Faith Hospice.
