Elenora Fern Martin, age 92, of Middleville, went to be with her Lord on December 7, 2020. Elenora was born on August 26, 1928 in Chippewa Township, the daughter of Alva and Helen (Titus) Guernsey. In 1948, Elenora married Darrell Martin and they shared 71 years together until his passing on April 29, 2020. Elenora was a member of The First Baptist Church in Middleville and Grove Bible Church. She loved working with children and was a longtime Sunday school teacher. Elenora traveled to Texas in the winters to work at Bibleville Camp helping clean the church and making hats for children in Mexico. Until recently, Elenora and Darrell enjoyed exploring the United States in their motorhome. In her free time, Elenora enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and ceramic making. She always enjoyed shopping and never met a stranger. Elenora is survived by her children, Michael Martin, Helen (Wayne) Wiersma, and Perry (Erin) Martin; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Guernsey; and sister, Virginia Bruch. Elenora’s funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church in Middleville on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in Coman Cemetery.
