Richard Calvin Court II
The world lost a great person, Richard Calvin Court II, on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020.
Richard was born on November 2, 1948 in San Diego, CA to Richard and Paula Court. His family moved from San Diego to Texas, where he met his wife, Laurie, and they moved to Delton, where they raised their family. A veteran, Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was a very hard working man and was employed with Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, Local 1045 for over 29 years and retired 10 years ago. He was a “jack-of-all-trades” which was a trait he passed down to his children.
Richard was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor, and was loved by everyone. His kids and grandkids were very important to him, and he was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, and papa.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Laurie Court; children, Richard Court III of MI, Deelana Caldwell (fiancé Cody Schaendorf) of MI, Kara Thomas of TX, and step-son Jamie (Tabitha) Morgan of MI; grandchildren, Madalynn, Joey, Rider, Mikey, Colton, Katie, and one more on the way, all of Michigan, and Dacey, Darien and Dray of TX; mother-in-law, Bonnie Morgan; sisters, Della (Bruce) Bates of Anahuac, TX, Charlene (Dalton) Logan of Santa Fe, TX; and many other family members in Texas, Michigan and Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard (Charlie) Court Sr., Paula (Hallet) McKinney; father-in-law, Ronald Morgan; mother-in-law, Dolores Forrest; brother-in-law, Blake Morgan.
Per Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
