Frank Albert Cruttenden


Frank Albert Cruttenden, age 80, of Delton, passed away at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020. Frank was born in 1940 in Hastings to Albert and Avis (Benedict) Cruttenden. He graduated from Cedar Lake Academy and then went to work construction in Berrien Springs for five years and after moving back to Barry County, worked at VanAllen Builders for 23 years, followed by Sherwinn Construction for over 20 years. Frank was a hard worker and truly enjoyed his job. He was a talented and fine carpenter who took pride in his work. Frank loved his church and was a member of Delton Seventh-day Adventist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming. He greatly loved his family who will miss him dearly. Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Parker) Cruttenden; children, Larry (Marian) Cruttenden, Steve (Annette Roth) Cruttenden; Russ (Dana) Cruttenden; Bill (Beth) Cruttenden; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Jane Swisher, Alberta Ottinger, Dale Cruttenden, Pearl Sipperly, Lynn Cruttenden; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie (Dee) Aldridge; grandson, Aaron Cruttenden; siblings, Alton Cruttenden, Joan Siglin, Paul Cruttenden, Ada Swisher. A funeral service for Frank will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Hastings Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Jeffery Dowell and Pastor Joseph Ottinger officiating. Interment Hickory Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Battle Creek Academy will be appreciated.
