Ronald Paul Funk
It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Paul Funk announces his passing. On Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at the age of 85 years. Ronald went home to be with his heavenly father.
Ronald was born at his home in Burnips, on March 29, 1935. He attended Hudsonville High School, joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served at the time of the Korean War. He was the manager of the Zephyr Service Station in Hastings for 30 years and retired from Felpausch Food Center after 15 years.
Ronald was a member of Yankee Springs Bible Church for many years. He enjoyed golfing and fishing as well as telling a good story or joke. He was a friend to all and had a special place in his heart for children.
Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Clarilla (Enyart) Funk; his children, Craig (Judith), Matthew (Michele), Mary (Kenneth) Francisco, Joel (Theresa) and Martha (Jim) Thorne. Ronald will fondly be remembered by his grandchildren, Kyle Funk, Kelly Funk, Jill Funk, Levi (Courtney) Funk, Jake (Lauren) Francisco, Caden (Brooke) Francisco, Clay Francisco, Chelsea (Andrew) Paschall, Caleb (Halle) Funk, Carter Funk, Alyvia Thorne, Amelya Thorne, Jaymes Thorne; great grandchildren, Beckham Funk, Dax Funk, Ezra Paschall and by his sister, Elaine (Rick) Kimber as well as many nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Florence Funk; and brothers, James, Leo Jr. and Orville.
A visitation and funeral service in memory of Ronald was held on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at Lauer Family Funeral Home with Pastor James Collison officiating. Interment will follow in Yankee Springs Township Cemetery. Military honors by American Legion Post #45 in Hastings.
