Rick Thompson
The race has ended. Rick Thompson, age 67, passed on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 in the comfort of his own home, in Delton, with the loving company of the family he helped build.
Whether it was racing, hunting, classic cars, tractors, or fabrication, Rick dove in with passion and knowledge. Many times he was a valued and respected resource when others had questions or problems. He had pride in his strengths and acknowledged his weaknesses, a strength in itself. The volumes of what he didn’t have time to pass on will be sorely missed.
A man of integrity and fortitude, Rick will be most remembered for his willingness to help others when needed, and his deep love of his family. His family will always remember how deeply he loved and protected them, and will forever strive to live up to his example.
His father Robert, mother, Chere, brother, Randy, and sister, Cindy went before him and received him with long awaited open arms.
Carrying on his legacy is his other sister, Candy, his wife of 43 years, Marty, his children: Michele, Bob, Dave, and his lovingly adopted children: Dave, Matthew, and Jacob. We all love you dearly. Hold a place for us at the table. Deer’s runnin.
Rick’s family received friends on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 at Williams-Gores Funeral Home in Delton. A private family service will be held. Rick will be laid to rest in Banfield Cemetery.
